A dificuldade do começar

"The number one thing that stops most people from losing weight is 'The Start'.

And the number one thing that stops many people from starting is lack of motivation.  After all, dieting does seem both complicated and scary.

Because of this, I'd like to share with you my answer to "How do you find the motivation to start a diet?"

The first step in motivating yourself is uncomplicating the whole process...

I do this by looking in the mirror... looking at the extra fat on my body, and realizing that the reason the excess fat is there is because I ate more than I needed to...

That's it. No super-scientific explanation needed, no beating myself up for being lazy, no hating my parents for my lousy genetics or whatever. I just stick to the facts, and the fact is I ate a little more food than I needed. It's not any more complicated than this.

The next step is making dieting less scary.

I do this by thinking no matter if you have 10 pounds or 100 pounds to lose, all you really need to think about is losing 1-2 pounds in the next 5-7 days.

You don't need to look any further ahead... just focus on winning this week.

Lose 1 or 2 pounds, then you are on your way. 2 good fasts this week combined with some responsible eating and you should be able to do this without too much effort.

When you realize that you don't need to punish yourself, and that you can take a diet week-by-week or even day-by-day, it kind of puts it all in perspective

It doesn't need to be complicated, or scary.

Yes, it IS work - but it's the kind of work that gets results, so don't be afraid to get started today ;)

Your friend,

Brad
